Greek-Minoan & Egyptian, Shumer & Chinese, Indian-Persian-more vedic cultures Express ticket
Learning history - again, now fast & deeper - I surprisingly found that my previous "life of travelling" - around many different countries and places - was really movements in the area of one vast ancient Empire'n Civilization,
However tech-progress in archeology and history never stops, its hard to define all the facts and matters about the blessed land of Nakhon Si Thammarat in a strick chrono-order to serve it warm on iron-decorated plastic plate. Hard from beginning -it has been traced to pre-historical times.
Evidences of past in Buddhist temples, archeological remains, traditional festivals-etc. shows that .various vedic religions, traditions and cults were widely spreaded here. In Shiva's old sacred places we see omphalos-linga-shaped stones, statues of Ardhanarishvara, Nataraja statuettes, Indra-worship stories, pictures from churning t of the ocean of milk ...
Its starts from times when great God Shiva lost his beloved wife Sati and was walking around the world in suffer, after the destroying of Daksha-yajna - first-ever sacrifice, where Sati was burned Herself in inner fire. Vamana-Purana describes how Shiva recovered and come in front of 7 Richis & their divine Wifes-Goddesses, also associated with Pleyades. Bhagavan - Supreme God - approached them to ask for the povement, when all the Women, except of just one Arundhati - Anusuiya - lost their minds in desire and followed Shiva, as besotted female elephants.

looking at this, 7 Richis said the words in great anger, and Shiva-lingam fell down to the earth. Shiva disappeared, and his great lingam broked the hole in Earth, rasatala & brahmanda, and again comes up to the heaven. All the existence starts to mix-up in chaos, and Great Creator Brahma in big worry comes to God Vishnu. Being honored, Vishnu suggested to ask Shiva to put-up his Lingam and return the World's order.
Shiva answering to Brahma & Vishnu, that only if all the Gods will glorify the Lingam it will be rised again, and not in any other way.
"Let it Be!" said Keshava-Vishnu, and Brahma Himself founded Tamralingam - sacred dark-golden Lingam - to create worship of Hara (Shiva) for each of four varnas, or classes of society.
When after all the rituals gods, brahmans and other devotees gone from that place, Shambhu (Shiva) approached to that place of Tambralinga to create non-material Linga's there surrounded by beautiful forest, and continue His path.

Next traditional mention about Tambralinga we can find in Mahabharata epic. As its depicted in Adiparva, king of Tamraliptu and Pattana - among the other powerful kshatriyas - going to visit kingdom of Panchal and compete in archery contest with chance to win the most beautiful woman - Krishna-Draupadi in Svayamvara (wedding contest-ceremony). Later Draupadi leaving the Svayamvara with Arjuna (the best archer) and became the wife of all 5 brothers-Pandavas.
Other mention In second book of that greatest-among-written epic - Sabhaparva. Here the Bhima, strongest among the warriors, conquered king of Tamralipta, when he was sent by his elder bro Yudhishthira to the East side - to include all the land on his way to their Empire and to make Yudhishthira the World's Emperor.
