Nakhon Si Thammarat Travel Photo Guide

View-on: NakhonSI  history

Story of NakhonSi "how he see it". By Rony Gonzo - staff-decorator while all the others are off for the while
Greek-Minoan & Egyptian, Shumer & Chinese, Indian-Persian-more vedic cultures Express ticket

Learning history - again, now fast & deeper - I surprisingly found that my previous "life of travelling" - around many different countries and places - was really movements in the area of one vast ancient Empire'n Civilization,
However tech-progress in archeology and history never stops, its hard to define all the facts and matters about the blessed land of Nakhon Si Thammarat in a strick chrono-order to serve it warm on iron-decorated plastic plate. Hard from beginning -it has been traced to pre-historical times.

Evidences of past in Buddhist temples, archeological remains, traditional festivals-etc. shows that .various vedic religions, traditions and cults were widely spreaded here. In Shiva's old sacred places we see omphalos-linga-shaped stones, statues of Ardhanarishvara,  Nataraja statuettes, Indra-worship stories, pictures from churning t of the ocean of milk ...

Its starts from times when great God Shiva lost his beloved wife Sati and was walking around the world in suffer, after the destroying of Daksha-yajna - first-ever sacrifice, where Sati was burned Herself in inner fire. Vamana-Purana describes how Shiva recovered and come in front of 7 Richis & their divine Wifes-Goddesses, also associated with Pleyades. Bhagavan - Supreme God - approached them to ask for the povement, when all the Women, except of just one Arundhati - Anusuiya - lost their minds in desire and followed Shiva, as besotted female elephants.

Shiva & Kali private hidden temple in Phrom Khiri

2/4/2016

Some of the roads, opposite to Phromlok waterfall, leads us to the place of sage Ruesi (Lersi) Mettancha -  His home, museum and temple - place of Goddess  Kali & God Shiva worship.  Statues and articles represents the divine scenes, described in Hindu sacred texts, such as Vedas and Puranas, while mantras of Devi and Shiva were playing.  On a central position is  a Kali Herself - Goddess of Time & spouse of Mahakala-Rudra. Kali is a avatar of Supreme Goddess  in her most fearsome and incomprehensible form, wearing necklace from men's heads. Her great husband - Rudra or Bhayrava, with other 1000's of name - the oldest from the great trinity and maha-avatar of Supreme God Shiva.  Shiva-Purana describes that one day of Rudra equal to one year of God Vishnu; one day of Vishnu = one year of God Brahma; whee Bмrahma and Vishnu are the two others from vedic Great Trinity, responsibe for creation and holding the creation. Noticeble that its situated in Phrom Khiri - "Brahma Hills". Ashram-type of accommodation for guests of Ruisi located on-site.

Among many interesting museums of Nakhon Si Thammarat province we choose five among the most popular and easy to find, which we also believe will be useful for the visitors.
Free entrance in all of them.

1. Nakhon Si Thammarat city museum, Talad Park

City museum in Nakhon Si Thammarat is a large exhibition with few areas with many rare exponents presented according by epoch. Also here  you can read exiting stories about Tambralinga-Ligor-Nakhon Si Thammarat glorious past and beautiful present. Combine it with visiting other parts of the park around, such as Buddha park, water adentures, zoo (I don't like zoo concept, but ... its there) and peacock area.

Among the other places recommended to see we can mention:
  • Khao Kha museum and ancient site between Sichon & Tha Sala.
  • Small  museum with local flora and fauna of Khao Plai Dam, Sichon, in Tong Yang national park.
